Solomon Islands struck by earthquake, tsunami


A tsunami caused by an earthquake struck the Solomon Islands on Wednesday, February 6. The initial quake’s magnitude measured 8.0, and almost a week later the islands continue to experience aftershocks, including three major aftershocks of 6.3, 6.5, and 7.0, respectively.
