Banglawmedu, Theni (Tamil Nadu): Pastor V. Neethirajan (45) belongs to The Church of God Ministry and he has been doing his ministry during the last 20 years in Banglawmedu near Theni District in Tamil Nadu. He has a fellowship of about 100 believers. He lives with his wife and two children.
On 30th April 2012 he began a three day Vacational Bible Study meeting of Christians in a marriage hall near his church at Banglawmedu, and it was attended by men, women and small children along with their parents. When the Sangh Parivar outfit, the BJP, came to know about it, a large number of BJP workers gathered together and came down upon them, roughed them up and ordered them to stop their Bible Study programme immediately. Holding their party flag aloft they kept on shouting, “Don’t convert Hindus to Christianity, and we won’t allow it,” and were also about to physically attack the Christians if they had persisted upon continuing with their programme.
After stopping the Bible Study Meeting, the pastor along with some believers went to the nearby police station and lodged a complaint against the BJP workers. The police warned the BJP workers and then also ordered the Christians to cancel their Bible Study Meeting. Please pray for them.
