Federal Prison For San Diego Man Convicted of Child Sex Trafficking

SAN DIEGO – A 15-year federal prison term was handed down for a San Diego man who set up a website and posted online ads on the Internet offering commercial sex acts with a child.

Ralph Darnell Redd, also known as Zig Zag, was convicted last July of three counts, including sex trafficking of children and sexual exploitation of a child.

The 42-year-old defendant was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Whelan.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
